Point of Kuh

Perspectives on dairy farming & dairy livestock in dialog with the picture series “The Milk Matrix” by Nikita Teryoshin at the University of Hohenheim

The Point of Kuh project

The project focuses on Nikita Teryoshin’s disturbing series of images “Milk Matrix” and his criticism of the dairy industry, high-performance cows and dairy farming, as well as research on livestock and animal testing.

For “Point of Kuh,” Teryoshin’s images and accompanying texts were supplemented by personal statements from various members of the University of Hohenheim. The result is a dialog between science, agricultural practice, society, and art, with sometimes complementary and sometimes contradictory perspectives.

“Point of Kuh” can be seen until 14 January 2026 at the Biozentrum of the University of Hohenheim and in the foyer of the Württemberg State Library in Stuttgart.

Exhibition opening with discussion

“Point of Kuh” was opened on 25 November 2025 as part of the 7th Hohenheim Agricultural Dialog at the University of Hohenheim

The University of Hohenheim

Founded in 1818 after a devastating famine, the institution later to become the University of Hohenheim was given the task of researching and improving agriculture and disseminating its knowledge in order to secure future food supplies. Since then, it has been seeking solutions to pressing global problems and training specialists for the transition to a sustainable way of life and economy. In addition to agricultural sciences, it now also draws on the natural sciences as well as economics and social sciences.
