More pedestrian-friendly campus

Despite Hohenheim’s beauty, its green campus is not enough to motivate University members to switch to walking and biking. In the Master Plan 2030 for Construction and Mobility on Campus, the University defined a series of measures that are to be implemented step by step.

Short-term measures
  • Campus-wide 30 km/h speed limit to make the campus more comfortable for pedestrians and cyclists.
Medium-term measures

  • Upgrade of central locations (e.g., in front of the new lecture hall, in front of the Phytomedicine Learning Center)
  • Improved network of pedestrian trails
  • Conversion of Heinrich Pabst Strasse in front of the Mensa into a low-speed zone shared by pedestrians, bikes, and cars.
