Registration for modules

Information for students on how to register for module participation.

Most modules do not require registration for the module, but only registration for the examination. You can usually therefore just go to the lecture and the lecturers will tell you what to do and whether there is an ILIAS course (e-learning system) that you will need to log into. Only modules in which places are restricted for reasons of space or supervision (practical courses, laboratories, or computer courses) require prior registration.

In the module catalog, under "Comments” in the module description it will state whether it is necessary to register and whether the number of participants is limited. Please double check before the start of lectures whether the modules you have selected have a limited number of participants or not. If a module is only open to a limited number of participants, then it has a course on the e-learning platform ILIAS (https://ilias.uni-hohenheim.de/). This is where the registration must take place and where the allocation mode is also indicated. In general, the following applies: Students for whom the relevant module is compulsory or the last module still to be taken that is required for a degree must be admitted.

Registration period: The ILIAS course registration for all of the faculty's modules (i.e., not just those with limited places for participation) begins two weeks before the start of lectures. For the participant-limited modules in block 1, registration can end one week before the start of the lectures, for all other participant-limited modules it can end at the end of the first week of lectures. In case places remain vacant these places can still be allocated in all modules after this date.

Most modules do not require registration for the module, but only registration for the examination. Students can therefore attend the lectures without prior registration. There it will be announced whether an ILIAS (e-learning system) course has been set up.

However, for modules in which participation is limited for reasons of space and supervision (internships, laboratory or computer courses), you must register in advance. The registration requirements and modalities are listed in the module catalog under "Notes".

Please double check before the start of lectures whether the modules you have selected have a limited number of participants are not, and register for them if necessary.

In general, the following applies: Students from the module is compulsory will be admitted.

Information will follow shortly.
