Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee examines ethical issues related to research projects at the University of Hohenheim. The Ethics Committee acts as a body for the ethical evaluation (Ethical Approval) of planned projects.

Please note that the Ethics Committee’s office will be closed from 8 August to 24 August 2026, and your applications will therefore not be processed or forwarded to the committee members until after that period. 

Delays in the review process may also occur in September due to conferences and vacations!

Please note:

  • If you require Ethical Approval, you must submit your request PRIOR to you commencing research activities. Projects that have already begun or been completed cannot be reviewed by the Committee!

    • When planning your project, please take into account the respective processing times and any potential delays due to follow-up inquiries, etc.
    • We would like to inform you that processing times may be longer during the summer vacation and at the end of the year.

  • In an advisory capacity, the Ethics Committee may be contacted at any time.
  • Please describe your planned research methods in as much detail as possible.
