Shaping the university together: Participate and make a difference
From university policy, to commitment to sustainability, or social issues
The University of Hohenheim offers a wide range of opportunities to get involved, open to anyone who wants to take on responsibility and actively help develop the campus. Here are all the participation opportunities for students and staff members at a glance.
All enrolled students are members of the Constituted Student Body (VS). Many members of the student body make special efforts to work for the benefit of all students. These include in particular your elected AStA and StuPa representatives, and the student representatives for the departments.
Student Parliament (StuPa): The Student Parliament (StuPa) is the highest decision-making body of the Constituted Student Body. It is comprised of 20 voting members who are elected once a year during the summer semester.
General Student Committee (AStA) The General Students Committee is the executive body of the Hohenheim student body. It represents the student body externally.
Students’ representative bodies The departmental student representatives are students of a faculty who work to improve study conditions. Furthermore, they organize lectures and events.

The initiatives range from cultural integration, lived faith in religious groups and diverse world views, ecological, economic, or social groups to political work.
Members of the status groups can actively participate in the commissions of the university by being elected to the Senate, University Council, or Faculty Council of their faculty.
