Program for November 2021

Topic of the month:

Economy and society - Living bioeconomically

The transition to a bio-based economy and lifestyle must involve the entire society. Research gets to the bottom of the social, political, and economic aspects of this change - and supports smart ideas with which everyone can contribute to it in everyday life.
Off-topic events complement the thematic focus.

Unless otherwise noted, all events are held in German.

The University of Hohenheim is organizing the Hohenheim Talks About the Future as part of the Science Year 2020/21 “Bioeconomy." The next event in the series will be held on 25 November from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on the topic:

From the field to the plate - how sustainable is the journey of our food?

Most people in Europe buy their food in the supermarket. Yet there are already numerous ways to buy food through much shorter supply chains. However, many consumers find these offers too expensive or too time-consuming to obtain. What are the solutions to these problems? What would have to happen for these alternative offerings to be used more? Where are there still hurdles that need to be removed?

Speakers include

  • Prof. Dr. Verena Hüttl-Maack
    University of Hohenheim
Director of the Department of Marketing & Consumer Behavior
  • Philip Kosanke
