Erasmus+ mobility grant for study stays in partner countries (KA 171)

The Erasmus+ program is the European Union’s program for education, training, youth and sport. Various mobility measures in higher education, including student mobility for study purposes in partner countries (KA 171 SMS) are funded under the umbrella of the EU education program.

At the University of Hohenheim, the Erasmus+ mobility grant for study stays in partner countries is a grant program for selected exchange programs abroad. The grant is intended to (partially) finance additional costs incurred abroad.

The Erasmus+ mobility grant for study stays in partner countries (KA 171) is currently available for the following partner countries:

  • Israel

The Erasmus+ grant is not available for exchange programs in other countries.

What is funded? The Erasmus+ mobility grant for study stays in partner countries supports participation in exchange programs in the partner countries mentioned above (2-12 months).
Who is eligible? Participants in the University of Hohenheim’s exchange programs in the partner countries mentioned above, who receive a place as part of their application for exchange programs abroad.
What does the mobility grant consist of?

The support consists of country-dependent monthly grant payments and possible additional funding. The respective Erasmus+ project determines the amount of the country-specific monthly grant payments and the additional funding.

Please note that the project year is not necessarily the same as the year of your stay abroad. You will be informed of the Erasmus+ project from which you will receive funding when your mobility grant is approved.

Application documents

The exact application document requirements are published each year in the official call for applications for the Erasmus+ mobility grant for study stays in program countries.

Usually, applicants submit a digital application via Mobility Online. No further documents are required.

Responsibilities as a recipient
  • Fulfilling the respective program requirements (e.g. timely submission of all documents required by the program)
  • Act as an ambassador for the University of Hohenheim at the partner university, as well as for the respective partner university and the exchange program at the University of Hohenheim
  • Compliance with grant agreements
Other
  • Financial support can only be granted if there is no travel warning in place for the host country or region concerned, issued by the Federal Foreign Office.
  • Parallel funding from other EU funds is not permitted.
  • It is possible to receive International BAföG as well as Erasmus+ funding. However, the relevant BAföG office must be notified of the Erasmus+ grant and this may lead to an adjustment of the BAföG rates.
