Registration

How you can register on our F.I.T. continuing education platform is explained in this PDF. We kindly ask you to provide complete data when registering – thank you.

Cancelling registration

Please avoid unexcused absence. If you are unable to participate, please cancel your registration directly with the organizer (e.g. if the cancellation deadline has expired) or via the F.I.T. platform. If you cancel in time, people on the waiting list still have the chance to participate.

Exclusion

Two unexcused absences will result in an immediate ban for six months and the automatic cancellation of events for which you are already registered.

Certificate of attendance

Please save your certificate of participation following each event. You can retrieve and save your certificate of participation under “My Events.”

ECTS credits

In the seminar description, you can see whether and how many ECTS credits are given for a F.I.T. course. If no ECTS credits are listed in the seminar description, no ECTS credits are awarded for the course.

In the following degree programs, ECTS credits from the F.I.T. courses are counted:

  1. Bachelor’s students in Business Administration and Economics and Communication Science can have the F.I.T. courses counted either with or without grades in the portfolio module in the free elective area.
  2. Bachelor’s students in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and the Faculty of Natural Sciences can have courses counted in the portfolio module (exception: Biology (Teacher Program for Secondary Schools)).
  3. Bachelor’s students who have registered for a Flexible Learning Semester can have the courses counted as a voluntary achievement and get certificates for them.
  4. Master’s students in Biology can have F.I.T. courses counted in the module “Personal Competence.”
  5. Master’s students in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences can have the F.I.T. courses counted under certain conditions. You can get more information from the academic program advisor.
  6. NOTE: Bachelor’s students in Information Systems, Education for Business and Economics, and Biology (Teacher Program for Secondary Schools) do not have portfolio modules.

For degree programs not listed here, please contact the academic program advisors.

Conditions of participation

General conditions for participation in the F.I.T. program

Your registration is binding. Your registration data will be stored electronically for this purpose and processed for the creation of participant lists, attendance lists, certificates of participation, name badges and, if required, for registration on learning platforms (simulation games, learning materials, videos) of external instructors.

The order of registration determines which participants are admitted.

The number of spaces is limited. There is no legal right to a space even if you registered before the deadline.

Waiting list: A waiting list is maintained for each event. All persons on the waiting list are automatically contacted when a place becomes available. The person who responds first gets the spot.

De-registering: If you are unable to attend an event, please cancel or notify us or the organizer by the cancellation deadline so that the space can be reassigned. We reserve the right to cancel the event at short notice for important reasons (e.g. if the instructor is sick).

Certificate of participation: Certificates of participation are saved for 4 years and then automatically deleted.

Deleting your user profile: If you want to delete your profile from the F.I.T. platform, please write to: fit-weiterbildung@uni-hohenheim.de

Unexcused absences: Two unexcused absences will result in an immediate ban for six months and the automatic cancellation of courses for which you are already registered.

Exclusion: In the event of disruptive behavior, the person may be excluded from the course by the responsible persons or lecturers.

Costs: The events are generally free of charge for students of the University of Hohenheim. If there are costs, this will be indicated in the course description.

Qualification measures with certified exams involving fees: The cancellation deadlines apply. You can withdraw from the course free of charge until the cancellation deadline. After that date, the costs will be charged in full. A medical certificate is required in case of illness.

ECTS credits: The ECTS credits are shown in the description of the course. If ECTS credits are given for a course, you will also receive a certificate of participation.

Supplementary conditions of participation of the organizers

Event organizer: Educational Development Unit

You can cancel your registration in writing up to 14 days before the course begins. For de-registering, the email date is relevant. It is not sufficient to inform the lecturer that you are de-registering.

The courses are funded by the University of Hohenheim. As a participant, you (or the institute sending you) pay a contribution per course day. The amount of the cost contribution may vary. Please refer to the respective course description for the amount of the cost contribution. If you cancel later than 14 days before the start of the seminar or are absent without an excuse, the cost contribution is due.

For each course you attend, you will receive a certificate of participation. For a certificate of participation, you must be present for at least 80% of the course.

Event organizer: MentHo

You must be a member to attend MentHo seminars.

Event organizer: Human Resources Department

The University supports its employees in further education. Participation is usually counted as working hours if the course has a business use. Courses that are not primarily related to work are marked accordingly in the Continuing Education Program. By registering, you confirm that your participation has been arranged with your supervisor.

If it is not possible for you to participate in the event you have booked, you should cancel your registration as soon as possible – at least one week before the start of the course so that those on the waiting list can be moved up to fill the empty place. If you are ill or prevented from attending for other urgent reasons at short notice, you should immediately inform the Personnel and Organizational Development unit.
