Responsibilities of the President's Office

The duties of the President's Office include in particular:
(see Section 16(3) sentence 2 no. 1 - 14 LHG)

  • Structural and development plan including personnel development
  • Planning structural developments
  • Drawing up the resource and equipment plans
  • Concluding university agreements and goal agreements according to Sec. 13(2) LHG
  • Continually evaluating and improving structures and performance processes by establishing and using a quality management system
  • Drawing up the budget drafts or establishing the financial plan
  • Implementing the budget or the financial plan
  • Distributing posts and funds available to the University in accordance with the principles of Sec. 13(2) LHG
  • Deciding on the distribution of land and space in accordance with the principles of Sec. 13(2) LHG
  • Deciding on corporate assets
  • Determining performance payments according to Sec. 38(1) no. 1 of the LBesGBW for professorial appointment negotiations and negotiations to retain professors
  • Determining performance payments in accordance with Sec. 38(1) no. 2 of the LBesGBW for special achievements in research, teaching, the arts, further education, and the promotion of early career researchers; the dean’s offices may submit proposals in this regard; the President’s Office is not bound by such proposals
  • Determining benefits under Sec. 33(1) no. 3 of the LBesGBW for the performance of other functions or special tasks in university self-administration
  • Determining research and teaching allowances according to Sec. 60 LBesGBW

In addition, the President's Office is responsible for all matters for which the State Higher Education Act or the university's basic regulations do not expressly stipulate any other responsibility and which are of fundamental relevance to university policy.
