Abstract

On the basis of the intensity dependence of the obsd. absorbance of photostationary states in the( A + h.nu.)B(+h.nu.,.DELTA.) system, a formula is derived for the detn. of the quantum yields .vphi.A and .vphi.B. As the value of .epsilon.B, which is required for the evaluation, usually is unknown, absorbance of the hypothetical photostationary states of the pure photoreaction is detd. by extrapolation of the irradn. intensity to infinity and enter these values into the method of Fischer for the detn. of .epsilon.B.
