Abstract

In a ligand-exchange reaction between RSiMe3 (R = aryl) and BX3 or RBX2, arylhaloboranes [RBX2, RR'BX or R2BX (X = halo)] and Me3SiX are formed. This transfer of substituted arom. groups from a Si to a B atom is an efficient synthetic pathway for the prepn. of the corresponding arylhaloboranes and diarylhaloboranes with different aryl groups. Phys. properties and spectral data of the new arylhaloboranes are given.
