Description
A new developed innovative bionic agitation system will be intensively tested and evaluated at the full-scale research biogas plant of the University Hohenheim at the agricultural research station Unterer Lindenhof. For a time period of two retention times consisting of 180 days each the following parameters will be investigated:
- Electric energy consumption (continuous)
- Biogas quality and –quantity (continuous)
- Nutrient distribution in the digesters (12 measurement points each 3 heights – once a month)
- Process biology analyses of the fermenting substrate in the digesters (weekly)
- Viscosity of the fermenting substrate measured with an in-line viscometer (monthly)
- Measurement of flow-pattern with computed tomography (Fraunhofer IKTS Dresden)
All parameters will allow a comparison between the measured data of the innovative bionic agitation system and the state of the art agitator systems currently used at the research biogas plant. Since both digesters are build and fed on an identical level the agitation performance and the agitation efficiency can be evaluated on a high level.
