Description
For the desired solar drying the knowledge of the pressure drop when drying process occurs is of major importance. The measurement of the corresponding data will be made specifically for this purpose in an experimental setup developed under laboratory conditions.
- It will be measured the pressure drop across the wood chip pile as a function of different material, bulk density, pile height and size distribution of wood chips used.
- The flow conditions in the greenhouse will be visualized in parallel with a CFD simulation.
- The data on the drying behaviour of different wood chip sizes will be also identified.
- The results will be composed from the visualization of the flow behaviour and the generated curves of the pressure drop across the bed height as a function of bulk density.
- Additionally, some initial statements to optimize the drying process will be made.
