Hanover, Messe EuroTier

A businessman takes a closer look at the model of a rotary milking parlor at the EuroTier trade fair in Hanover. The tubes to which the creatures are connected remind me of the movie The Matrix. EuroTier is the largest agriculture trade fair in the world and takes place every two years.

To compare a milking parlor with the film “The Matrix” − such an association is somewhat strange from our point of view.

In contrast to the movie, the cows are only “connected” to the hoses twice a day for five to ten minutes. The stellar milking technology from Siliconform shown here is based particularly strongly on the calf's sucking behavior and is very gentle on the udder due to its low vacuum, among other things.

It is also used at our Meiereihof research station at the University of Hohenheim.
