Program content

Being an allrounder and specialist at the same time

In addition to a general basic education, the content of the Master's programme in Management is based on the seven overarching focus areas:  Accounting, Controlling & Taxation | Digital Business Management | Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Sustainability | Finance | Health Care & Public Management | Marketing | Organizational Behaviour.

The three compulsory modules Applied Quantitative Methods, Modeling & Decision Making, and Multivariate Data Analysis make up the basic training in business administration.

To deepen your knowledge further, you can choose any of the seven specializations listed above. You can also enhance your profile within your chosen focus area and specialize according to your interests and strengths.

The specialization area includes the following (for details please refer to the curriculum):

  • 7 modules are to be selected from the chosen specialization
  • 2 modules are to be chosen from the entire range of modules

The free elective area then adds modules to complement the program. This area allows you to further individualize your profile. Here you can choose modules you have not yet taken from the Master’s program in Management (with the exception of the seminars), from the Master’s program in International Business and Economics (with the exception of compulsory and seminar modules), or suitable modules from the other faculties. If you would like to study abroad, you can plan a semester abroad at this point and have the coursework and examinations you complete there recognized and integrated into your studies. Another option is to write your Master's thesis abroad in the 4th semester.

Whether in Hohenheim or abroad: You complete your studies with a 4-month Master’s thesis. In your thesis, you will apply the skills you have acquired during your studies to your own research work in the field of management.
