Recognition of languages

Depending on the faculty and degree program, recognition of certificates acquired at the Language Center of the University of Hohenheim is possible as follows.

Faculty W

  • In the Bachelor's program in Business Administration and Economics, you can take the elective module Business Languages (Business English, Business French, or Business Spanish) as part of the international profile and receive credit for two business language courses (language level C1, total 6 ECTS credits).
  • In the Bachelor's degree programs in Business Administration and Economics and Communication Science, you have the option within the free elective area to take the module Business Languages (two business language courses, see above) and/or to complete various language courses with a total of 6 ECTS as part of the portfolio module.
  • Please inform yourself first on the pages of the Faculty W linked above. For subsequent inquiries, please contact the persons named there or your degree program coordinator.

Faculty A and N

  • The elective module "English for Scientific Purposes (UNIcert III)" comprises a total of 8 SWS at the C1 level (usually 4 courses spread over several semesters) as well as an additional UNIcert III examination. Courses and exam refer to the science area (A+N), a combination e.g. with Business English is not possible.
  • A portfolio module as an additional module is also possible (up to 6 ECTS of subject-specific language courses).
  • Depending on the program, credit is awarded by the respective program coordinator within the Faculty A and the Faculty N.
