March Intensive German Course (on campus)

4–26 March 2024

Course program

The German intensive language course in March 2024 will take place from 4 to 26 March 2024 (in person on campus!). It consists of a total of 60 lessons (45 minutes each) between 5–25 March 2024 and offers you varied lessons aimed at systematically improving the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as expanding your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.

The language of instruction in the courses is German. The minimum number of participants per course group is 8, the maximum number of participants is 20.
The courses are aimed at beginners up to the upper intermediate level according to the Levels A1 to B2. Your level is assessed before the start of the course using a placement test. Depending on how many points you score, you will register for one of the following (morning) courses:

It is also possible to book the course with a supplementary supporting program. Included are excursions within Stuttgart, two full-day trips to Heidelberg and Munich, a welcome party on 4 March, an international evening, intercultural workshops, an international evening, and other activities on campus (campus tour, scavenger hunt,...). The course is the ideal way to make great progress in the language in a relatively short time and at the same time get to know Stuttgart and the region better. We look forward to your participation!

At the end of the course you can take a final exam for the respective level. If you successfully participate, the results of this examination will be included in a certificate and you will receive 4 ECTS credits (and if you regularly participate in the supplementary program, you will receive 5 ECTS credits).

In order to register online, you need
1.) either a successfully completed German course at the Language Center of the University of Hohenheim
2.) or the result of a placement test.
External participants (e.g., students of the University of Stuttgart) can register for the March intensive course by email from 29 January, provided there are still places available.

Registration deadline:04 February 2024 (admission according to when registration is received)
Fees:

Complete course program (lessons and social program):

  • Regular course fee € 750
  • Reduced course fee for regular Hohenheim students who do not pay tuition (including double-degree students): € 480
  • Reduced course fee for new Hohenheim exchange students:€ 390
  • Reduced course fee for regular Hohenheim students who pay tuition (of € 1,500 per semester): € 230

Morning classes only:

  • Regular fees: € 350
  • Reduced course fee for Hohenheim students (except doctoral candidates): € 160

Please note: The reduced course fee (€ 130) for German intensive courses is only possible twice during the course of studies at the University of Hohenheim (for exchange students only once). Please contact the course organizers if you are not sure how many times you have received this discount. The course book and workbook are also included in the course fee. The fee includes a registration fee of € 50, which is forfeited if you cancel your registration.

After we have received the complete registration, you will receive confirmation and further information. The entire course fee must be paid within three working days of registration.

Please note the following: If you cancel by 18 February 2024 at the latest, we will keep the registration fee of € 50 but will reimburse the rest (transfers to German bank accounts only). If you cancel after that date (e.g., one day before the beginning of the course), we cannot refund the course fee.
