Online registration for all German courses (02.04.-18.04.2024)

1. Register yourself online worldwide on www.uni-hohenheim.de/en/language-center. Registration starts on the 2nd of April at 10am and ends on the 18th of April at 12pm. Courses start 15.04.24.
2. You are you an absolute beginner? Please click on “Deutsch A1.1” and on the green button of your chosen time.
3. You passed A1.1? Click on “A1.2” and on the green button of your chosen time. Click on Sprachtraining I for extra oral training.
4. Same for all other levels (A1-B1), f.e. You passed A2.2? Click on “B1.1” and on the green button of your chosen time. Click on Sprachtraining II for extra oral training.
5. You did not pass or sit the exam of your last German course? Please repeat your level or assess your German skills in 30 minutes – free test anytime at the Mediothek in the Euroforum or online. Please be honest for best results.

6. You scored too low or too high in the Placement test for your German course? Please come and see Dr. Aifan for advice in person (times below). We may test your German level with a writing task to enable you to get the right course for you.

You do not need to take the placement test if:       

• you are an absolute beginner and have never learned any German,
• you have already passed a German language course at Hohenheim

Start of courses: 15.4.2024. Make sure to attend your first class.

You are unsure about the course level after the placement test or need advice on course contents, please come and see the Program manager German as a Foreign Language (no appointment necessary):

Consultations after start of courses:
Please write an email to Dr. Uta Aifan: uta.aifan@ua.uni-hohenheim.de to make an appointment (including your name, course titel, C-Test points, date of birth, matriculation number)

Course fees:

• €12.50 per SWS for students and PHDs: For Example, a beginner’s course with 4 teaching units per week will cost you
• €50 for the complete semester (employees of the University of Hohenheim: €25 per SWS).
• Guests may only attend if there are places left and after consultation with Mrs. Aifan: €50 per SWS.

Online registration for all German courses (2 Apr - 18 Apr 2024)

1. Simply register online at https://www.uni-hohenheim.de/sprachenzentrum from Tues 2 Apr 2024, 10 a.m. until Thurs 18 Apr 2024, 12 noon (also for students who are abroad). Please note: Courses start on 15 Apr 2024!
2. Choose a German course depending on your score in the placement test, or select the follow-up course at the University of Hohenheim (e.g. passed B1.2 =>B2.1).
3. B2.2 or C1?
4. C1 certificate (e.g. TestDaF 4x4)? Register without a test by email or in a personal advising session. Only for C1: Get a no-obligation “taster” on the first course date.
5. You didn’t pass or take the exam for your last German course, or you are new to the Language Center? No problem: free self-test for German in just 30 minutes without an appointment on request with instructions in the Mediothek in the Euroforum or online. Please be honest for best results!
6. You scored too low or too high in the placement test for your German course? We can change this after a short writing task in an advising session.

No test necessary for A1-B2 simply register online if:

• You have never learned German (beginner I)
• You have passed a German course at the University of Hohenheim

No test necessary for C1 if:

• UNIcert II certificate (after 3-4 B2 German courses at University of Hohenheim)
• Send certificate for German C1 level (e.g. TestDaF4x4) by email.

Start of German courses: from 15 April 2024. Do not miss the first course date!

Course fees:

• € 12.50 / SWS for students
• € 25 / SWS for employees
• €50 / SWS for guests only for remaining places and after discussion with Ms. Aifan.
