FEINSCHLIFF

Talent management program for postdocs

  • promotes high potentials
  • qualifies particularly talented young scientists for their further professional development

“As the president of the University of Hohenheim, early career researchers are particularly important to me. With the FEINSCHLIFF program, the University of Hohenheim is starting down a new path for supporting careers in the important phase after doctorates and lowering the barriers between science and the job market outside of the university. That is why I emphatically support this program.” Prof. Dr. Stephan Dabbert, President

Participant Comments

"I can recommend participation in FEINSCHLIFF to every postdoc - regardless of whether you’re pursuing an academic career or a non-academic professional career! Beyond the workshops on leadership and career development and the individual coaching, FEINSCHLIFF offers a platform for inspiring exchange with young scientists from all disciplines." (Dr. Konstantin Kuck, participant 2022)

"The FEINSCHLIFF program stands out for me because of the variety of ideas it provides. This includes, for example, interdisciplinary exchange among postdocs on teaching, research, and careers. But this is also evident in the individual coaching sessions, which contribute to personality development." (Dr. Leif Brändle, participant 2022)

"FEINSCHLIFF has given me the time and space to plan my future career path and get clarity on how to proceed" (Dr. Fabian Prochazka - Participant 2020)

“Feinschliff - the finishing touches in self-reflection and self-management, in recognizing and developing potential, in strategic career planning and in one's own leadership style. Feinschliff - a program which is not only designed by outstanding coaches, but also by the postdocs themselves. A strong network from which we can all benefit in the future." (Dr. Myriam Löffler - Participant 2018)

"Participating in the Feinschliff program was a great enrichment for me. I learned a lot, especially in the area of leadership skills, and was able to exchange ideas very openly with the other participants about how to implement these ideas in my everyday work. Feinschliff is a unique initiative to promote young scientists - I hope that it will also set a precedent outside the University of Hohenheim. As an important pillar of research, early career scientists need support and appreciation!" (Dr. Felix Adrion - Participant 2018)
