The Animal Welfare Officer is supported in her tasks by the Animal Welfare Committee at the University of Hohenheim.
Its tasks include:
- supporting the Animal Welfare Officer in fulfilling her duties
- assisting in setting down internal work processes related to carrying out and evaluating the monitoring of the animals’ welfare and any related follow-up measures, and ensuring that these work processes are followed,
- tracking the development of animal experiments and their findings under consideration of the effects on the animals used
- advising in regards to the developing and carrying out of programs according to Sec. 10(2).
These tasks arise from Sec. 6(2) of the Animal Protection Act.
