The University of Hohenheim undertakes animal science research. Animal protection is therefore an important topic at the University of Hohenheim. According to the legal regulations and the university’s own ethical understanding, this also includes the promotion of animal welfare, keeping the animals in a way appropriate to each species, implementing the 3R concept, veterinary supervision, and an extensive program for training and continuing education for active animal protection. It is only possible to get reliable, reproducible results if the animals have good living conditions and are healthy.
