Evelyn and Panda from the Sustainability Working Group (AKN)
"We are a colorful bunch with utopias and a desire to get started in a practical way. Our motto: Instead of despairing about the world's crises, we'd rather look for like-minded people and find out together where everyone can make a difference. There are so many possibilities! Be it during your studies, on campus, in everyday life or later in your job. No one can save the world alone. But we can take many small steps that create a positive impact.
At AKN, we inspire each other and roll up our sleeves to join forces to promote green ideas in Hohenheim. If necessary, we remain persistent. Take the "Green Office" issue, for example. The idea was initiated 5 years ago (!) by our predecessors. We are now seeing how the university is actually implementing this idea! And of course we will also play an an active role in this.
Above all, the AKN is about getting to know new people, supporting each other and having a good time together at university! The AKN makes studying a really great experience for us! By the way: Internationals welcome! All meetings are held in English.
Networking is also important to us: there are many other green groups and initiatives in Hohenheim that we work closely with. To make it easier for students to get an overview, we have published the Sustainability Guide Hohenheim. Here you can also find a map with green places on campus.
Of course, we have many more projects! We will be happy to present some of them in more detail as part of the "Besser wär besser - GREEN" semester.

At AKN, we are always happy to meet new people - from all degree programs! There is a great opportunity to get to know us from April 26 - 28. That's when our next "Green Hut" takes place. That means: We will take you to a hut in Neckarzimmern for 3 days.
We have prepared a green program for you there: Among other things, we want to collect wild herbs and cook together. We'll show you how you can get involved on campus and there will be lots of exciting workshops! Of course, we will also go out into nature. There we can talk about things that move you personally during the "Walk and Talk"!
We have a total of 54 places. Registration is now open!
