Costs

At each university, a semester fee must be paid that varies from university to university. At the University of Hohenheim, the semester fee is made of up the following elements:

Tuition fees for international students from non-EU/EEA countries: €1,500

Tuition Fees for a second degree at the same level as a degree already completed (Zweitstudium): €650

Additional costs

In addition to the semester fees, there are also costs of living. According to the German National Association for Student Affairs (DSW), costs of living during studies are around €934 per month (DSW, October 2022). These costs include rent (the largest sum), food, clothing, study materials, transportation, and insurance as well as fees for phones, internet, and radio license fees. They also include leisure time activities. Of course, the actual amount will always depend on individual needs and the university location.
