General Student Committee (AStA)

The “Allgemeine Studierendenausschuss (AStA)” (general student committee) is the executive organ of the student body. AStA reports to the Student Parliament (StuPa) and is bound to the StuPa’s decisions. The AStA chair represents the student body outside the University.

AStA works on the general tasks of the constituted student body (Verfasste Studierendenschaft, VS) with a particular focus on:

• social assistance for students
• needs of students with children and students with disabilities
• promoting the intellectual, musical, and athletic interests of students
• promoting equality within the student body
• general academic affairs of students
• promoting national and international student cooperation
