Survey management

The central office “Survey Management” is responsible for coordinating surveys.
This does not include evaluations of teaching as described in the Evaluation Regulations for Studies and Teaching.

The standard procedure is for surveys to be carried out online.

Surveys in address notification procedure

Note: Log in to be able to call up the linked documents.

The University sends the questionnaire or links for the institution conducting the survey directly to a defined target group (regulations for survey management). This prevents the contact data being transferred to the institution conducting the survey. The selection of address data is done using the University’s central databases. The exact procedure can be found in the process flowchart.

Request

Inquiries about a survey request are to be sent to befragung@uni-hohenheim.de.

The inquiry should contain the following information:

  • Institution conducting the survey, contact person
  • Content and objective of the survey (if applicable, with questionnaire)
  • Target group and, if applicable, a definition of the random sample
  • Desired time period for the survey

Length of time for survey to be completed

  • Lead time for employee questionnaires: 10 weeks
  • Lead time for all other surveys 6 weeks

Requirements for survey support

  • The University has an interest in evaluating the survey or there is an overarching public interest in the findings.
  • The information being surveyed cannot be reasonably obtained from other sources (data economy).
  • Data protection regulations are upheld, that is, the institution conducting the survey fulfills the applicable legal standards.
  • The target group for the survey was not recently invited to participate in another survey.

Please look at the General Evaluation Statutes for further information.

Alternatively, a call to participate in surveys is open to all University institutions in Hohenheim’s intranet using “kurz gemeldet”. Each institution must decide whether it publishes calls for participation for external partners.
