Psychological counselling - an additional service from the ZSB Hohenheim

In addition to office hours and the counselling services of a traditional study advisor, we offer students the opportunity to receive professional counselling from a psychotherapist.

How does an advising session work?

  1. Contact the Student Counselling Center (ZSB) by email or during telephone consultation hours
    Don't forget:

    • Briefly introduce yourself with information about your studies (degree program, semester, how are your studies going so far)
    • Your request in keywords

  2. Scheduling an appointment for an initial session with a study advisor (one-on-one, in person, by phone, or with ZOOM)
  3. Appointment for psychological counselling (one-on-one, digital or by telephone, duration: 45 minutes). The appointments always take place on Tuesdays.

Psychological counselling is not a substitute for psychotherapy; it can only serve as a bridge during the time your are seeking a therapist.

The offer only available to students of the University of Hohenheim and is free of charge. The discussions take place in a neutral and confidential way; all staff members are subject to confidentiality requirements.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

We generally assign the appointments as soon as possible and we try to consider the urgency.

Nevertheless, there may be longer waiting times and therefore we ask you to contact us as early as possible.
