THE World University Ranking 2026:
The University of Hohenheim remains among the best 16 percent in the world  [09.10.25]

The University of Hohenheim continues to be in the league of the world’s best 350 universities, mainly due to its high level of research / Particular strength in agricultural, nutritional, and food sciences

Strong in research: The University of Hohenheim is among the top 16 percent of the world’s universities in the current World University Ranking. The British magazine “Times Higher Education” (THE) publishes this ranking each year; this time it included 2,191 top universities from 115 countries. It is an evaluation of the entire university with a focus on research strength. The main contributors to the group ranking of #301-350 were the disciplines that are very strong in research, such as agricultural, nutritional, and food sciences. This is also confirmed by three other rankings this year placing the University of Hohenheim in very high positions for these subjects. See details at www.uni-hohenheim.de/en/rankings

The basis of the Times Higher Education World University Ranking is the overall performance of an entire university. The most important factor is the quality of research and the research environment (together 59%), followed by quality of teaching (29.5%). In addition, there are other criteria such as internationality (7.5%) as well as patents and third-party funds from industry (4% each).

The THE ranking uses statistical data and bibliometric data provided by Elsevier's Scopus database as its source.
