4 of 5 stars and a 93% recommendation rate: Student assessment places University of Hohenheim at the top in Baden-Württemberg / Nationally number 2 after Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder

The ranking success as the most beautiful campus in the state is followed by the election to the most popular university in Baden-Württemberg: The current ranking on the degree program evaluation platform “StudyCheck” puts the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart in 1st place in Baden-Württemberg and in 2nd place in Germany after the European Viadrina University in Frankfurt/Oder. Other state universities with top ten places are the University of Mannheim (4th place) and the KIT (9th place). This means Baden-Württemberg has the most universities with top evaluations from students. Details can be found at www.studycheck.de/hochschulranking/beliebteste-universitaeten.

 

The selection criteria are strict: Only universities with at least 3.8 out of 5 stars and a recommendation rate over 90 percent are included in the ranking. In addition, at least 50 students had to have submitted a rating between 1 January and 31 December 2017.

Currently, around 500 university with over 16,000 degree programs are included in the assessment. The evaluation includes the content of the degree programs, quality of supervision, courses, and resources, but also campus life and organization. The ratings also include reports from the students.


Three Top Ten Universities from Baden-Württemberg

With 4 out of 5 stars and a recommendation rate of 93 percent, the University of Hohenheim was the most popular university in the state. Nationally, it came in 2nd place after the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder (3.9 of 5 stars; recommendation rate of 99 percent).

In all, Baden-Württemberg proved itself to be a very popular state for students: Three of the top ten universities come from this state - more than from any other. Besides the University of Hohenheim, this included the University of Mannheim (4th place with 4 out of 5 stars; 90 percent recommendation rate) and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT (9th place with 3.9 out of 5 stars; 91 percent recommendation rate).


Most Beautiful Campus in the State

In addition to the current title as the most popular university in the state, the University of Hohenheim has already been determined to have the state’s most beautiful campus. This result comes from an online survey conducted among students in the early 2000s. It was organized by the student magazine UNICUM in cooperation with the Architecture Portal BauNetz.

Karlsruhe’s campus was awarded second place in Baden-Württemberg. The title of the most beautiful campus in Germany went to the University of Passau; the University of Magedeburg-Stendal was in second place.
