Description
Pigs are used as model to assess potential relationships between the occurrence of obesity and the composition of the intestinal microbiota as influenced by diet composition. Fecal and digesta samples form different parts of the gastrointestinal tract are analyzed for their microbial composition using different molecular methods (e.g. Real-time PCR, DNA Fingerprinting).
