Description

This PhD study aims at quantifying the effect of climate change on water use efficiency of crops and ground water recharge in Southwest Germany under different climate change scenarios. We hypothesize that the positive effect of CO2 fertilization on the water use efficiency of crops might be overcompensated by a reduced net primary productivity due to warming and an increase of rainfall variability.
