Aim of the award: Support of young scientists in the area of “sustainable land use systems as a bases for preserving biodiversity in the tropics and subtropics”
Applicants:

The best Master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation written on this topic at the University of Hohenheim in the award period (the last twelve months) will be given the award. Minimum requirements: magna cum laude for the doctoral thesis and 1.3 (3.7 in the international grade system) for the Master's thesis.

Criteria:

Criteria for the evaluation are in particular the innovative research idea and its successful methodological implementation, the application to the practice with clearly defined and realistic options for action, and a presentation.

Nomination rights:All teachers of the University of Hohenheim may nominate candidates.
Selection procedure:The selection of the award-winners is done on the basis of the aforementioned criteria as well as two reviews. Up to three of the best works are selected, from which the President of the foundation selects the award-winners.
Submissions of nominations with two reviews and a PDF of the thesis by 1 April of each year to the Institute of Agricultural Sciences in the Tropics (Ms. Dottavio).
