  • We want young scientists in Hohenheim to be promoted in a sustainable way.
For example, we are working to create good conditions, reliable structures, and sufficient planning security (including financial) for doctoral candidates at the University.
  • We send an advisory member to the University Senate and are asked to provide an official position, e.g. if changes are made to the doctoral degree regulations.
The members of the Graduate Council are also active in establishing doctoral candidate support at several places in the University and in various committees (e.g. in the Senate Commission on Research).

Some of the activities we have carried out or have planned for 2015

The doctoral candidate get-together open to candidates from all faculties takes place on the first Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. You can find the exact dates and place in the ILIAS group  and on Facebook.

Besides this, we see it as our task to help you as much as we can when it comes to organizational issues, e.g. the doctoral agreement.

If problems arise during your doctorate, e.g. with your supervisor, then you can come to us and we will assist you where possible.

These are your contacts:

Of course we will treat your questions confidentially. The Gender Equality Representative, the contact person for doctoral candidate support, and the ombudspersons are also required by their offices to maintain absolute confidentiality. They give you advice and only take action if you consent.

Anyone can participate!

Most suggestions and documents are sent via the mailing list, and feedback is always welcome.

Of course we are also happy to listen to initial ideas and suggestions for improvements or we can direct you to the right contacts (e.g. faculties).

A good opportunity to inform yourself is also the doctoral candidate get-together (see announcements on Facebook).
