Funding and financing the doctorate

Doctorates are often funded by working in research and teaching or obtaining a scholarship.

In addition, there is a possibility to obtain financing in the form of grants and prizes.

Many doctoral candidates fund their doctorates by working as academic assistants or assistants at the University’s institutes. These positions can be regular positions linked to teaching or administrative work, or they can be project positions in the context of research projects funded by third parties.
