Information Systems at Stuttgart Universities in the Top Ten  [15.06.22]

The Information Systems Bachelor's degree program jointly offered by the Universities of Hohenheim and Stuttgart prepares students well for their professional life.

Human resource officers voted: If you have studied the joint degree program Information Systems at the Universities of Hohenheim and Stuttgart, you have excellent prospects when you start looking for a job. In the current university ranking of the Wirtschaftswoche, the graduates of this subject are in 6th place on the popularity scale. The results are based on a nationwide survey of around 500 HR managers. The complete ranking was published on 22 April 2022.


For Wirtschaftswoche’s university ranking, the employer branding consulting firm Universum asks human resource officers every year which universities and universities of applied sciences prepare students best for professional life. The survey includes both public and private universities.

The result: Graduates from the Information Systems Bachelor’s degree program, offered jointly by the University of Hohenheim and University of Stuttgart, were in 6th place nationwide. In addition to the applicant’s personality, one of the most important criteria in the selection process for HR managers is the practical relevance of the degree program. The importance of social commitment has also increased. First place in the subject Information Systems was taken by the Technische Universität München.

The subjects surveyed were industrial engineering, information systems, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, law, natural sciences, and economics and business administration. The respondents were able to name several universities and universities of applied sciences per subject.


BACKGROUND: Business Administration and Economics programs at the University of Hohenheim


The University of Hohenheim offers six Bachelor’s programs, eight Master’s programs, and one doctorate program in "Economics" in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences.

In Hohenheim, the Bachelor’s level economics and business degree programs include Digital Business Management, Communication Science, Sustainability & Change, Information Systems (in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart), Education for Business and Economics, and Business Administration and Economics.

The Master’s programs include Economics, International Business and Economics, Management, Information Systems, Education for Business and Economics, Finance (part-time), Communication Management and Analysis, and Bioeconomy (with the Faculties of Agricultural and Natural Sciences).

There are currently more than 4,500 students (winter semester 2021/2022) enrolled at the University of Hohenheim in the business, economics, and social science programs. This means that more than half of the University of Hohenheim's students are studying these subjects.
