Students see Business Administration and Economics in the leading group [07.05.26]
Stellar grades for the Bachelor’s range of courses in Business Administration and Economics as well as Business Informatics at the University of Hohenheim / Introductory provision for prospective students and parents
Excellent in terms of range of courses, study support, and supervisors: In the ranking published today by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE), students at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart gave top ratings for all indicators. Students who are currently thinking about studying for a Bachelor’s degree can find out for themselves about the programs on offer in “Sustainability & Change,” “Digital Business Management,” “Information Systems,” or “Business Administration and Economics.” See the ranking for yourself: heystudium.de/ranking
The first-class support program is already noticeable at the beginning of the studies: The University of Hohenheim is in the top group for the factual indicator “Support for first-semester students.”
The Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) had also asked the students to evaluate their universities. The results of this evaluation are presented in the ZEIT Study Guide and on the HeyStudium study orientation platform. This is done in the form of a 5-star scale. 3.8 stars or better (shown in green online) cover the top range, 2.3 to 3.7 stars the middle range (yellow), and lower ratings the bottom range (red).
Students see the range of courses in “Business Administration and Economics” and “Sustainability & Change,” as well as “Information Systems” and “Digital Management,” in the top group for all indicators. “It's a broad program that covers all areas of business administration and economics, and even delves beyond that into computer science, law, and many other areas. You can then enter employment in all areas of the economy and are in demand,” said one student in the survey.
Students praise the topicality of the range of courses with individual focus
“Good reliable organization, current economic examples, wide range of topics” – according to another comment: The topicality of the range of courses and the possibilities for individual specialization are persuasive. One piece of feedback from Information Systems: “The degree program is highly topical and perfectly adapted to the skills required by the digital economy.”
“We are delighted with the positive feedback from the CHE Ranking,” said Prof. Dr. Jörg Schiller, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences. “Last year's AACSB accreditation, which puts us in the top six percent of all business schools worldwide, was a great honor for us. But nothing beats what our students say themselves. And they confirm our attractive and diverse range of programs.”
One component here is the “AI & Data Science Certificate Hohenheim” (AIDAHO), which the University of Hohenheim offers on a concurrent basis. The certificate program offers students from all faculties the opportunity to supplement their knowledge with skills in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, and Scientific Computing.
University of Hohenheim scores well with support services
Similarly positive feedback is given in the CHE Ranking for the organization of examinations and for support during studies. “The lecturers are very competent and excellent in their respective fields. They also always have an answer to questions beyond the course itself. They deal with current events,” one student comment reads.
Students also appreciate the room situation – from the technical equipment to the number of available seats, whether in the study rooms or in the Departmental Library. “Beautiful library with great opening hours” is another one of the student comments. In fact, the gem in the Palace was voted the most beautiful university library in the country in an Instagram ranking by funk (ARD and ZDF) at the beginning of the year.
Dean of Studies Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schweiger added: “The question is always important when studying: What about later? Our provision to promote career entry have received excellent ratings, which makes me very happy. We also notice that the services offered by our CareerCenter for career orientation, profile building, and applying for jobs are very much used by the students.”
