Students at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart consider their university to be one of the best in Germany. Coming in 5th place among the most popular universities in Germany, the university secured the “StudyCheck Award 2026.” On the “StudyCheck” comparison portal, students can submit ratings for their universities and degree programs nationwide. In fact, the University of Hohenheim places a particular emphasis on good supervision, innovative teaching, and state-of-the-art degree programs. The complete ranking of universities can be found at www.studycheck.de/hochschulranking/beliebteste-universitaeten
“Wonderful university” (B. Sc. Agricultural Sciences), “Excellent Master’s, great facilities & professors” (M. Sc. Food Science and Technology) “Super degree program with future prospects” (B. Sc. Digital Management), “Varied teaching, practical, and theoretical” (M. Sc. Biology). Those are some of the current evaluations for the University of Hohenheim.
Hohenheim not only has the most beautiful university campus in Germany and the most beautiful Central Library in Baden-Württemberg. Above all, it offers its students the opportunity to help shape the university and develop solutions for a sustainable and digital future. “I find our students to be extremely committed. I am therefore all the more pleased that they perceive our institution to be one of the top universities in Germany,” said Professor Sebastian Hess, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Hohenheim.
Open for all degree programs: Humboldt reloaded and AIDAHO
A unique feature in Hohenheim is the “Humboldt reloaded” research-based learning program. Students are given the opportunity to work independently and in small groups on current topics and implement their own research projects as early as the basic study period.
Interdisciplinary learning opportunities on digitalization are also very much en vogue at the University of Hohenheim: The certificate course AIDAHO (AI & Data Science Certificate Hohenheim) is open to all students, teaching skills in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science.
Degree programs on the cutting edge of science
“We attach great importance to responding to current core topics in our teaching and enabling our students to look beyond the boundaries of their own subjects,” said Professor Hess. “This is not only reflected in the successful and creative courses, which we recognize with a variety of teaching awards.”
The range of courses is also constantly adapting to demand – for example in agricultural sciences. From spring 2026, Bachelor’s students will have the opportunity to specialize in “Horticultural Sciences.” This new field of study is characterized by a specially tailored curriculum and its own courses, which range from sustainable vegetable, fruit, and wine growing to the basics of agronomy and economics.
There has been another recent innovation in the Business Administration and Economics degree programs: The English-language Master’s degree program in “Economics” has been reformed and now combines classic economics content with data-driven analysis and decision-making processes. The reformed degree program started in the current winter semester under the name “Economics with Data Science.”
AACSB: International seal of quality for business, economics and social sciences
The high quality of teaching and research at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences has also been officially confirmed since 2025: by the AACSB seal. The largest of the three faculties at the University of Hohenheim is thus one of the approximately 6 percent of the best business schools worldwide that meet the international gold standard for outstanding research and teaching. For students, accreditation means a valuable advantage when starting their career.
