Description

The ruminal microbial community is characterized by a variety of substrate specificities due to the expression of various enzymatic functions. The composition of the microbial community and their metabolic activity is highly influence by the diet. It is assumed that the direct uptake of amino acids or peptides, originating from the diet, positively affects the microbial protein synthesis. Thus, this project wants to identify cellular transport systems within pure anaerobic strains and populations.
