Despite its practical importance the design of a flexible and adaptive technical infrastructure of electronic marketplaces has been often neglected in the literature. In this paper an architecture model for designing and implementing a flexible information and communication technology and transaction infrastructure for electronic marketplaces is proposed. The architecture model enables marketplace participants to connect to the marketplace in various ways, i.e. by using Web browsers, mobile devices, or application systems.
