Abstract

Me2NC2H4XSiMe3 (X = NMe, O) and RXSiMe3 (R = 2-pyridyl) reacted with B2Cl4 at high diln. to give I and II, resp. Crystals of I (X = NMe) are monoclinic, space group P21/n, with .alpha. 685.1(2), .beta.1325.1(4), c 1160.9(3) pm, .beta. 91.59(2).degree., Z = 4, d.(x-ray) = 1.444 g cm-3, and R.omega. = 0.031 (.omega. = 1/.sigma.2(F0)). The compds. were characterized by elemental anal. and IR, mass, and NMR (1H, 11B) spectral methods.
