The scheme of the thematic network Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Finance (INEF) unifies five renowned universities in Belgium, France, Italy, the United States and China under the lead management of the faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Hohenheim.
The thematic network INEF will be based on established relationships within the HERMES network and expand them by additional prestigious partners outside of Europe. While the primary focus of HERMES lies on double degree programs in under– and postgraduate studies, the thematic network INEF not only intends to extend the capacity of these programs, but also build upon existing contacts and activities to elaborate specific research collaborations and projects. Furthermore the network supports the distinct profile of Hohenheim University in the area of Bio-Economy as well as the formation of the Hermes network as European center of competence in the fields of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Finance.
As regards subject matter, the interface between Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Finance offers a comprehensive scope of research – Innovation has to be seen as core competence of Entrepreneurship, and hence requires appropriate financing. However, there are still many unanswered and economically relevant research questions, which are supposed to be addressed within the thematic network INEF. In order to achieve this, bilateral relationships will be transformed into multilateral networks and bilateral cooperations will be anchored on a faculty level to benefit from synergies.
