German Intensive Course August (online!)

5–28 August 2024

Course program

The German intensive language course in August will take place online (via ZOOM). We only offer this course at level A1.1, that is, the course is ideal for those who have never learned German before.
Priority is given to new international degree-seeking students at the University of Hohenheim (starting in the winter semester 2024/2025). After completing the August intensive course, we recommend that they attend the September intensive course A1.2 from September 2–25 on campus.

Here is the most important information at a glance: The daily class consists of 70 hours of varied instruction aimed at systematically improving the four skills of listening, reading, writing, and speaking, as well as expanding knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.

The language of instruction in the courses is German. The minimum number of participants per course group is 8, the maximum number of participants is 15. Our experienced teachers look forward to meeting you!

Depending on your time preference, you can choose either course A (lessons from 8:00–11:30 a.m. CET) or course B (lessons from 5:00–8:30 p.m. CET). Towards the end of the course there will be a final exam (probably on Friday, 23 August). The digital course books (“Spektrum Deutsch A1.1”) are included in the course fee. You will receive the code from us at the start of the course. A few days before the course starts, your teacher will send you an email with the Zoom link and password.

At the end of the course there is the opportunity to take a final exam. If you successfully participate, the results of this examination will be included in a certificate and you will receive 4 ECTS credits.
