Canteen & Cafés

There are many places where you can eat and drink in Hohenheim, irrespective of whether you want something quick or wish to eat a complete three-course meal at leisure and in peace. Whatever it is, Hohenheim has it.

When your stomach growls at lunchtime, the Mensa cooks have already been hard at work for you. You can choose from the following:

  • two regular meals, one of which is usually meatless
  • one plated meal, and
  • a large salad buffet.

From Tuesday to Thursday there is a wok dish at the “specials counter".

The Mensa also offers a delivery service for events on the campus of the University of Hohenheim. For inquiries please contact: Bernd Dubrau, Tel. 0711 459 23179

Opening hours

11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

In Café Denkbar, each morning you can choose from a wide selection of rolls, bagels, and pastries for your breakfast; during lunchtime you can choose from our menus; or you can meet up with your friends in the evening for a beer, wine, or cocktail to relax after a long day at the university.

From Monday to Friday, the Denkbar kitchen makes two daily specials for lunch - one is usually vegetarian. All food and beverages can be ordered to go.

On the weekend and holidays, breakfast is available until 3 p.m., meaning that you can sleep in and still enjoying a relaxing breakfast. In the afternoon, try our delicious cakes and coffees from the Viennese roasting house Daniel Moser.

For university events, the Café also offers catering.

The cafeteria is one of the best places to meet friends, relax, or to celebrate passed exams. Whether indoors or out at the beer tables: Here you can spend the time between, before, or after lectures with coffee or tea, sweets, or savory snacks.

Several times a year, special events such as barbecues are organized. The offer is regularly revised and expanded to meet the demands and wishes of the students. Suggestions and criticism are therefore gladly accepted.

Opening times

  • during the semester:
    Mon- Thur 7:30 a.m. -  5 p.m.
    Fri 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • lecture-free period:
    Mon-Fri  7:30 a.m. -  3 p.m.

The Cafete in TMS is a student alternative to the cafeteria. Our team of student volunteers offers you ecologically and fairly produced coffee, tea and hot chocolate for a reasonable price. Our milk comes from the local region and is ordered from the Reyerhof in Möhringen. We have been getting coffee and hot chocolate for many years from "Ökumenische Hochschulgruppe Hohenheim".

At the end of each semester we donate our profits to worthwhile projects all over the world.

During lecture periods we are open from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 4 pm. You will know that the Cafete is open if there is a yellow sign in front of TMS. We look forward to many coffee drinkers and interested people!

If you want to support the Cafete or would like to know more, you can directly ask us at the counter or have a look at our Facebook page.
