Construction work for bicycle station at the U3 station

The bicycle lending system in Stuttgart is being expanded and is now compatible with neighboring communities. On or near campus, 4 Regio-Rad stations are planned: Two larger, complete stations at which bicycles and e-bikes are usually always available, and two virtual stations at which bicycles can be parked and rented depending on availability.

Construction on a bicycle station at the U3 station is already under way. Two virtual stations at the Canteen and the east area of the Palace are to be set up in the upcoming weeks. The second complete station is to be integrated into the planned mobility station at the Fleet Management office on Heinrich-Pabst-Straße.

As yet there is no set date for setting up the mobility station, but the University is pressing the State Agency for Property and Construction to complete it soon since funding is available from the state.

The University is not permitted to build on its own, which is why it has to rely on implementation by the University Building Office at the State Agency for Property and Construction. However, it is pushing to be able to carry out such small construction measures on its own in the future. For this, the Chancellor is participating in a working group at the state level.
