Explosion protection

When handling hazardous substances, a risk assessment must first be carried out in accordance with § 6 BioStoffV. The assessment must take into account whether the substances, mixtures, and articles used can lead to fire or explosion hazards during activities, also taking into account the work equipment, processes, and working environment used and their possible interactions.

Furthermore, it must be checked whether or not hazardous quantities or concentrations of hazardous substances that can lead to fire or explosion occur. Depending on the quantity or concentration of hazardous materials, ignition sources and conditions must be considered that may cause a fire or explosion.
