Assistance for Refugees

For the University of Hohenheim, it goes without saying that we assist refugees as best we can. For the reason, the University has several offers to make it possible for refugees to study at the University of Hohenheim due to their special circumstances.

Researchers who had to flee their country or are in danger and who are already working at the University of Hohenheim or planning a research stay can contact the Welcome Center.

Depending on their previous education, refugees can apply for a university place in order to start a degree program. To continue their education independently, refugees can also register as auditing students to participate in individual lectures.

The Office of International Affairs informs refugees interested in studying about the possibilities of studying, the admission requirements, and application deadlines. more

The Language Center offers courses for Hohenheim students to improve their language skills.

Possibilities for easier admission

The University of Hohenheim will individually evaluate applications from refugees in order to find ways to compensate eventual disadvantages, such as missing documents. Each program has its own minimal requirements.

  • Minimal requirements for a Bachelor’s degree program are an university entrance qualification and sufficient German language skills.
  • Further requirements for a Master’s degree program are for example a first degree and English language skills.
